Epilepsy is a sickness in which nerve cell activity in the brain is upset, causing seizures.
Epilepsy may arise as an outcome of an inherited disorder or a brain injury, for instance a trauma or stroke.
When a seizure is caused, a person experiences irregular behaviour, symptoms and sensations, at times including loss of consciousness. There are few symptoms between seizures.
Epilepsy is usually treated by medication and in some cases by surgery, devices or dietary changes.
There are multiple factors which can cause epilepsy, such as
